DeLa Park City, 2011
Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 11:45AM This years DaLa Park City is on! Not familiar with the DeLa? Well, it is our way of celebrating the longest sunlit day of the year by spending it on our bikes! The question is what will be ridable? The date as always is set for Tuesday, June 21st. The route is in discussion. As of now the thoughts are to do a mtn ride in the morning, possibly a road ride during the middle of the day, and a cruiser ride in the evening.
last years ride had a great turnout with some nice early morning coffee and bagels provided! Not sure what to expect for weather and conditions this year but as always we will make sure to have a great day!
Invite anyone that loves to ride a bike! If you are unable to make it all day then join us at one of the designated meeting spots(tbd) throughout the day. Feel free to contact the shop for the most current update. The usual meeting spot is Whitepine Touring at the early hour of 4:45 AM!

The original Tour De La Marin, I think, was in 1984 or something. Longest day of the year. Also on the shortest day for the true masochist. 100 miles of singletrack in Marin County California. Most of it illegal. We started at 5 AM ... "don't want to come? show up at 5:01" ... those were the days. I think I bailed out early on the first one, managed to get 80 miles at most ... this was when one mile on dirt equaled two on the road in the effort department. Steel bikes, no sissy suspension. Ask Gravy or N Bot or Barry or any of those guys. The Fish made it on one or two of the rides (?), crashed and ripped his lip once. We were first. It still happens, but more underground. Enjoy the tradition, spread it around.
